So much for ‘no more’ overnight sails. It was either a really early start to get
into Port Macquarie during daylight hours (bar entrance) or leave at a
reasonable time and sail on to Coffs Harbour.
With settled conditions and a good forecast we opted for the
latter.
We departed at 6.30am with an
estimated arrival time of 8am the next day.
Overnight we had ideal sailing conditions, perfect wind speed and angle
and we would have been scooting along nicely had it not been for the 2 – 2.5
knots of current going against us. It
was very frustrating and didn’t help we had told the kids that we would be in
Coffs not long after they woke up. We
arrived at 11.30am.

My mum and dad came down to the Marina and everyone was very
excited to see them. The kids had their
bags packed ready for a sleepover and I had mine packed ready for a decent
shower.
